OSHA has specifically designed the Outreach Training Programs for the expansion of the knowledge of employers and employees across the United States, with regards to the standards and guidelines. This helps to enhance the safety and health of the American workplace.
Course Description
OSHA requires 4 basic topics to be included in every 10 hour program, and an additional 6 hours of elective topics. These 4 topics are:
- Introduction to OSH Act, OSHA, Enforcement & Recordkeeping.
- Walking and Working Surfaces
- Emergency Action Plans, Means of Egress and Fire Protection Plans.
- Electrical Safety
The 6 elective programs include:
- Hazardous Materials
- Machinery & Machine Guarding
- Personal Protective Equipment
- Hazard Communication
- Safety & Health Programs
- Hazardous Substances & Industrial Hygiene
Learning Objectives
- To locate the OSHA standards and references that are applicable to the ten topics listed above.

The 10 Hour Outreach program consists of 10 topic modules, each having its own lessons. Each module consists of lesson quizzes to test the applicants comprehension of the course material. There is a final examination at the end of the completion of each module, and this requires for the applicant to obtain a minimum of 70% in order to progress to the next module.Course Evaluation
Upon the completion of the entire course, the applicant will have to take a final quiz and will have to receive a minimum of 70% to complete the course. The student will be able to download or print his training completion certificate. In addition, the student will also receive a 10 Hour General Industry wallet card by mail.
