About the Course
The module that covers 30 hours of trainings is required by OSHA and is applied to obtain the 30 hour general industry course completion card. This module consists of 23 basic sections, each of approx. 2 hours, and covers topics related to the regulations under the standard 29 CFR 1926. Candidates that successfully complete this course will help to meet the standards established by OSHA with regards to the general industry.
OSHA recommends the Outreach courses as an orientation to the occupational safety and health of workers. If required by OSHA to do so, workers will be required to receive additional trainings on the specific hazards that are involved in their jobs.
How it Works
You will first be sent a copy of the OSHA standards. The book will serve as a resource for for further referencing of the OSHA standards that will be covered in this course. It will also help you find the standards and regulations that could help is the establishment of a safer workplace.
All the supplementary materials are available for download. All you have to do is click on the “Materials” button on the menu. You will also find the printable course summaries of each of the modules, as well as the entire syllabus of the 30 hour course. Other reference materials are available on the main website. As you proceed through the course, it is important to be aware of the help that you can access in case of problems that you may come across. If you encounter technical difficulties, then email the technical support team. This information is available in the Help screen. For content related queries, or queries that are related to prerequisites, course completion procedures, completion cards, etc., you should contact the school. This information is available at the top of the the help page.
While taking the course, be aware of the time limits for the login session as well as the course. As far as the login session is concerned, you can take as long as possible bu if you are idle for 15 minutes or more, then you will automatically be logged out. However, you can log back in and rejoin the course where you left off.
As far as the course is concerned, remember that you have about 6 months to complete it in order to receive any credit. After 6 months, your account will expire and you will have to purchase a new course again if you want to complete it.
At the end of each module, you will receive a ten question quiz. You must score 70% or above to pass the quiz. You will be given 3 opportunities to take each quiz. Failure to pass the quiz will result in you being locked out of the course and you will not be allowed to continue with the training.
Upon successful completion of each of the modules, you will then be required to pass a final examination. The exam will have 20 questions and will basically test your knowledge about the topics covered in the course. You must score 70% and above to pass the test. However, you will get 3 chances to take the test and if you do not pass it even after 3 tries then you will be locked out of the course and will not be able to continue with your outreach training online.
