Introduction
There is always some risk involved in using any kind of hand or power tool. Most of the accidents that occur at construction sites are caused due to improper usage of hand or power tools or due to tool malfunction. There are however, many other hazards that are associated with power tools.
Employers are responsible for inspecting all tools and equipment handled by the employees. Tools that are unsafe or faulty should not be used. It is very important to first train the employees in the proper usage and handling of tools and other equipment, before allowing them start working. The OSHA standard for protection of all employees handling hand and power tools strives to provide these employees with proper training in the handling of tools and inspecting for faults.
Course Description
This course outlines OSHA's role and importance in the prevention and probably elimination of work-related injuries. Hand and power tools have now become a part of our daily lives, as they help us perform certain backbreaking chores with ease. However, it is important to keep in mind that these same tools can be as dangerous as they are useful. Improper usage of these tools can cause severe injuries and in some cases, loss of life as well. Special attention needs to be given when using power tools in order to reduce these hazards.

Testing
Testing
Initial Tests or Quizzes must be passed with a 100% ranking in order for the applicant to proceed to the next lesson.
The final Examination must be passed with a minimum of 70% in order to clear the course. If necessary, the final examination can be taken 3 times.
