Introduction
In an agreement with OSHA, the State of California operates a special occupational safety and health program. This program is entirely responsible for announcing all the standards related to state safety and health. It is the only agency in California that is authorized to adopt, amend and repeal occupational safety and health orders or standards.
In an attempt to encourage all the US States to develop their own workplace safety and health programs, OSHA has managed to add to its list 26 other state programs. California belongs to one of the 26 states that has a state approved program. California's Department of Occupational Safety and Health sanctions a number of Cal-OSHA Programs.
Course Description
This course was specifically designed to create awareness in the State of California about the various occupational safety and health concerns that are prevalent at construction sites and other workplaces within the state. The course deals with a number of topics that include an overview to Cal-OSHA and the standards, requirements and practices.
