Introduction
Moving heavy loads from one point to another is crucial to the construction industry today. Much of today's technology has been developed for these specific purposes. Hence, it is important to have proper training. To a crane operator, there is nothing more frightening than a crane collapsing under the load of a heavy weight, or when a crane gets imbalanced while lifting a heavy load.
Keeping these issues in mind, it is very important to recognize and evaluate the various types of hazards that are associated with cranes, derricks and hoists in the workplace. The safety of the crane operator as well as that of the employees working in close proximity has to be considered. This is where OSHA's safety training course come into play.
Course Description
This course was specifically designed to help workers learn more about cranes, derricks and hoists. The topics that are covered in the course include cranes and derricks, base-mounted drum hoists, conveyors, helicopters, aerial lifts and overhead hoists. All the topics included in the course cover all the issues mention in OSHA 29 CFR 1926.55 Subpart N.

Testing
Initial Tests or Quizzes must be passed with a 100% ranking in order for the applicant to proceed to the next lesson.
The final Examination must be passed with a minimum of 70% in order to clear the course. If necessary, the final examination can be taken 3 times.
