Introduction



The demolition process can be a highly dangerous activity. Demolition workers are at any given time exposed to a number of hazards. Exposure to these hazards may not only be confined to the workers, but also to the others in close proximity to the site. Demolition can expose workers and other in the vicinity to hazardous materials that could affect their overall health.

Before starting with a demolition operation, it is very important for the supervisors to take special care of the health and safety of the workers. Preparation should include planning of the demolition, methods on how to bring the designated structure down, the equipment required for the job, and the safety measures that need to be taken.

Course Description



This course was designed with the intent to teach demolition contractors about the safety measures they can take for their employees. The topics that are included in the course are: preparatory measures, utility location, police and fire contact, medical services and first aid, engineering survey, special structures, fire prevention and protection, concrete structures, transportation of explosives, safe blasting procedures, procedures after blasting and storage of explosives.

  • To learn how to meet all the prerequisites so as to fully achieve the demolition targets.

Course Duration


The course has a duration of 1 hour.


Testing


Initial Tests or Quizzes must be passed with a 100% ranking in order for the applicant to proceed to the next lesson.

The final Examination must be passed with a minimum of 70% in order to clear the course. If necessary, the final examination can be taken 3 times.

An online certificate of completion will provided to you once the course is completed.
