materials handling

Introduction

Handling and storing materials involves a number of different operations from hoisting tons of steel with cranes and driving trucks loaded with concrete blocks to manually carrying materials and stacking drums, lumber or loose bricks.

Materials handling is essential to the construction business. These operations ensure that there is a constant flow of raw materials through the workplace, and that materials are available at any given time.
