Introduction
The OSHA HAZWOPER Courses for the general industry are specifically designed to help bring about awareness amongst the workers with regards to hazards prevalent in the workplace. These courses detail the preventive measures to reduce and eventually eliminate all such hazardous substances and situations.
As a part of our Oil Spill Clean Up series, this package is designed to help clean up workers with the required training and certification required in order to participate in the clean up operations. This package includes special courses of 40 Hour HAZWOPER and 10 Hour General Industry Outreach.
40 Hour HAZWOPER Course
This training course is intended to provide a wide issues referring to the hazard recognition at work sites. The HAZWOPER program has been developed by OSHA to provide protection for workers at hazardous sites and extensive regulations has been put up to ensure their safety and health. This course will help to identify the different types of hazards at work sites and also suggests the preventive measures and precautions that workers could use to eliminate or reduce work site hazards.
Note: Workers must receive the 40 hours of initial training and 3 days of actual field experience under a trained and seasoned supervisor before they could enter the site. Our online course meets the standard requirement of the 40 hours of initial training, but the participant’s employer or potential employer must provide the 3 days of field experience.
10 Hour General Industry Outreach training
This course is designed for entry level general industry workers to provide a broad awareness to recognize and prevent hazards on a general industry site. The participants will learn about a variety of safety and health hazards that they may come across at a general industry site.
OSHA recommends the above training courses as an orientation to occupational safety and health. Additional training must be received by workers on hazards specific to their job.
Once completing the course, a certificate of completion for both the 40 Hour Hazwoper Course and the 10 Hour General Industry Outreach Course will be provided. A Department of Labor card will also be provided within few weeks for the completion of the 10 Hour General Industry Outreach Course.
